Sorority Initiation Message

Penalties and Rights: Fioroni strikes back! Alarm

Beppe Fioroni strikes again. After the recent victory in "religious war" , the Minister of Education returns with a new, controversial proposal. And once again, as with the dear old ministerial directive of 15 March last on mobile phones, aims to amend the Charter of the students and students . The Minister has proposed, in fact, a tightening of disciplinary sanctions against students. And if the first "death sentence" was suspended for up to 15 days , where Fioroni proposals should be approved by the National Council of Education (Cnpi) , and then proceed to amend the statute, we trovemo to risk:

- the exclusion from the State;
- the expulsion and exclusion from class by the final vote;
- expulsion from school until the end of the school year;
- the reintroduction of the "7" conduct (in severe cases).

As I have said at the directive of March 15, worries that such action is not the size of the sanctions (which, though I consider to be assessed carefully), but rather the way in which these proposed would amend the Charter of the female students and students. The DPR 249/98 (the state) is in fact the result of years of dispute and the product of a long debate among students and institutions, is the fundamental charter of our rights and the main achievement of the student movement.

seems so outrageous that a Minister from scratch, without hearing, on an advisory basis, the opinion of students, to amend the Charter at the table, demonstrating how vain and insecure are our achievements and how easy it is to withdraw rights that have been granted.

What we want is a comparison serio. Vogliamo che il Ministro abbia il coraggio di ascoltarci e che gli studenti sappiano far valere i propri diritti .
